Well, here we go again.
I'm in the middle of loading the pdfs for "Wireheads: Basking in the Glow (http://www.wire-heads.com/book1/wireheads_book.html)" over at lulu.com (http://www.lulu.com). It should become available this week!
More to come.
EDIT: Finished the publishing process last night (well, this morning at around 5am and 9am -- yawwwn!). Ordered my proof copy, which should arrive on Monday. Eek! (Uhm... That wasn't me). Anyway, if all is well with the copy, then the book will be made available Monday. Eek! (Stop that!)

Book "proof" is finally arriving today (Boy, ninety bucks just doesn't get what it used to). Hopefully, it looks cool and I'll make the book public today! Yesh.

"Wireheads: Basking In The Glow" (http://www.lulu.com/content/995919) is finally available over at Lulu. There's a free preview! Sorry that it's so expensive, but I made it full color on every page.
Oh, and there's a wonderful Foreword by the lovely and very Goth, Karen Ellis of Planet Karen (http://www.planetkaren.co.uk).

uh.. the preview pages are in BW... Did you color them, or are you counting the background?:jbangel:

Ah, I get you now. Yes, the pages of color BEHIND the strips actually count as color when you produce the book. No, I didn't go back and "colorize" all 104 strips from last year. The ones that were color, however, I didn't want them to be black and white only. Thanks for getting me to clarify that, Craze.
So, full bleed color, every page.
Tried to keep it looking like the site.

I may need to pick one of those up.

No problem Jimbo, I looked a little at your site and it looks good. I like to get stuff now and then from the independants, it's how I started picking up Jen's work.

No problem, Al. Take all the time you want, I just like the support. I've gotta get this strip making some money or my significant other will definitely pull the plug.

And I've been meaning to ask you anyway, is that the Emperor (Chang? Yang?)from the remake of 'Flash Gordon?', the one with the Queen soundtrack that you are using for your AV?

It's from the TERRIBLE Flash Gorden movie that Queen provided teh soundtrack for.
Flash Gordon and Masters of the Universe are fond memories from my Child hood. :D

I recall laughing my ass off at the Flash Gordon take-off, "Flesh Gordon" largely because they got the lighting and effects to so perfectly resemble the originals.

I watched the DVD a few years back. I was actually impressed! It was a low budget porn movie, but they had people at least ATTEMPTING to act, there was SOME sort of a plot, and the movie made fun of itself!

Yeah, Al, 3 things that most Big Budget Studio films could learn a LOT from.

I'd like your feedback on something I did that, hopefully, didn't cause any notice.
The current strip (http://www.wire-heads.com/istrip/index.php?strip_id=140) was created in about an hour as opposed to my usual 4 to 6 hours.
I need to get my creation time way down, or as it turns out, I will likely have to stop the strip. I have way too many other things that I really need to get done.
So, in keeping with those other artist's we all know and love (Jen:jbgrin:), I'm attempting to find a way to get my strip's look to be kept, but created in a faster, simpler manner.
I'd really appreciate your thoughts.:D
Thanks.

You don't need feedback. You already know the answer. We like your first work better. Your fans will understand the transition. A differant style is better than no strip at all. Anyone whining is not a true fan. The new style is not stick figures or pasted pixels, it's ART...
Do what you need to do, and let us thank you for it later.

I finally released a black-and-white version of Wireheads: Basking In The Glow (http://www.lulu.com/content/1256772) so that the price would be more accessible. Taking the interior of the book to back and white knocked $11 off the cost! The B&W version is only $13.95 for the first year as opposed to $25 for full color.
Enjoy!

"Ach, Mensch" is just "oh, man ...", not really cursing, but "Mensch" is someone (with an actual personality) and "menschlich" is sort of "personable" and a bit like kulturny, a compliment.
Let's just not go into what "menschlich" might sound like after a few beers and a lot of bad accents, okay?

Hello Jimbo! You might not remember me from "long ago" on the Webcomic Artist Lounge." I was just looking at it and it seemed a bit stalled. I was glad to see you over here, and even happier to see you had put out a book. Congratulations!

Hey Kevin!
Sure, I remember you from there. Seems like the WAL just never took off, but such things need a LOT of love to fly. I've been over at The Panties for a couple years. Jennie is the one whose work inspired me to start mine, after all. Yeah, and thanks for the nod on the book. I just issued a second edition in black and white to bring the price down.
Welcome.

I hate to seem all ungrateful for the fanservice and the Happy New Year wishes, but as a biologist I have to ask what they're feeding her that she can digest and absorb with the tiny length of intestine that might just be in there somewhere. As she has almost no room for liver or kidneys, it's got to be good stuff. Amino acid, sugar and lipid monomer soup, or does she get it from an IV?

Hey Sla!
As a researcher and toon fan, I'm surprised that you're not more familiar with the Gonick/Huffman manual (http://www.amazon.com/Cartoon-Guide-Physics-Larry-Gonick/dp/0062731009/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199304426&sr=8-1). Check it out. I can assure you that Wireheads lies entirely within that realm.
Cheers and HNY!

Hey Boys and Girls, remember me? It's JIMBO! I just finished effects on Speed Racer and boy are my wheels tired. So tired in fact, that I'm looking for your help!
I need to get past the 210 (eg. I'm only at #196 (http://www.wire-heads.com/istrip/index.php?strip_id=196) right now) comic mark by May 15th (Wireheads' 2nd Anniversary) and I'm waaay behind. After spending 4 months of 7 day, 12 hour days getting Mr. Racer to the silver screen, I've been sleeping and catching up with lots of honeydews around the house, but almost no comics. AUGH! :d8o:
So, put your hands together, kick me in the butt and do everything in your power to encourage me to TRIPLE my output over the next couple of weeks, pleeeze?
Much appreciated!
Cheers.

So, what do *you* think of the movie, having worked on it?
(and yes, please, more comics. There can never be too many new comics from an established artist)

Speed Racer? Well, the storyline is very family oriented and mostly deals with Speed's relationships there. The effects are, of course, waay cool. Should be a good popcorn flick and the kiddies will love it. Hey, effects, martial arts, family and a decent story -- works for me.
