Ever tried Oil pastels?

Gives a similar sort of look but a bit more shiney.

Thanks for the positive feedback :-) and actually i did use the oils brush to get the streaks into the hair for a more natural look

i'm not allowed to play with oil pastels anymore.... i got fascinated watching what happens when i leave then too close to the window... one thing lead to another... and i made a big goopy mess with the pastels, crayons, and the curtains...

it was just COOL how the curtain soaked up the color and then i could use the wax crayon to make it a more firm design
