Id be a super villain, hands down no question about it. Not the violent kill everyone or take over the world villainy. Just the walk into a bank and take some money type of evil. Or I could do a captain america type deal but only if I was getting big bucks for it.

Im thinking juggernaut, incredible hulk, superman type power the super strong and super resistant power set.

If I was a villain, I dunno maybe Id be the safe cracker. If I was working for my government Id be the canadian shield.

One of my characters in a mutant-type rp was a villain...not so much 'cause she was into the whole evil thing as she was a showoff, and nobody at the time was much interested in hiring a scrawny 19-year-old girl as a bodyguard. That, and she tended to carry a grudge...or rather, she was always sure to pay her debts, be they revenge-type or the nicer sort. Most evil act ever(done in vengeance for making her seem weak in front of a potential ally) was to knock out a cop in the park after dark, "borrow" his radio, and report the assault(mimicking his voice, of course...her power was sound-related, which meant sonic-burst attacks, sound projection, and being able to disguise her own voice) while describing the "suspect" as the person she owed payback to...who already had trouble enough hiding the fact that she was a mutant. Once that was done, though, she didn't bear the other person any ill will, and actually warned her that one of the girl's more obvious mutant attributes was sticking out and likely to get her caught.

Her partner in crime was more the mutant supremacist sort, but said partner's attitude was more that she thought she, personally, was better than everyone else;-)

Hmm... what kind of superhero would I be? I'm gonna have to go with an old favorite of mine from Japan. I'd like to be like Sho Fukumachi and be bonded to a Guyver (http://www.guyvertv.com/) unit.

Forearm blades, mega-smasher beam cannon in the chest, plus the ability to fly and to regenerate from nearly nothing. Of course, that would mean fighting all sorts of nasty genetic hybrid monsters, but who cares when you look this damned cool (http://www.guyver1.net/images/guyver1_1.jpg).

Magic would be cool, or the fireworks thing Jubilee had. Or take my GuildWars character and make her real life (ElMo in it's finest short skirted glory, whoo!). Maybe an empathic skill, something that is small at first glance, but ends up kicking serious tookus when you're not expecting it.

I would be The Hoard. More or less normal guy, with the ability to create clones of myself, and later reabsorb them and their experiences.
One thing that most people don't quite catch on is the power of a clones purpose. Such and such a clone was created, stictly for the purpose of catching Bad Guy X. That is the reason for their existance. They will not be bribed, they will not be distacted. They don't have to worry about making money, getting to class, caring for loved ones, or chasing otehr villians, there are other clones for that.
Plus, be able to read every book, watch every movie, take every class, have every sort of training, and then reabsorb it all into one guy, who can then send endless expendible copies of himself.... Bad Guy X be in big trouble...
