Will anyone be attending the Super-Con (http://www.super-con.com/main.html) convention in San Jose California (May 17-18th)?

I take it by the overwhelming (insert sarcasm here) number of responses to my previous post, that I'm the only one here that attended. Fortunately I brought my camera, and actually remembered to use it.

I have to admit, one of my guilty pleasures is admiring all of the cosplayer's costumes. It takes balls (or the female equivalent) to wear some of those getups.

The poor guy in this Alien costume suffered a severe heat exhaustion attack, and had to leave early.

While I was taking some group shots, Jorge Garcia ("Hurley" from the television series LOST), decided he wanted to be in the picture.

Death is confused.

I've seen a lot of Death costumes over the years, but this person nailed the look (IMHO).
Full disclosure - I digitally removed Death's blue convention armband for this shot. The notion that Death would even need a pass seemed absurd.

After the con, I met up with several members of another forum I frequent, for beer at the local Gordon Biersch brewery/restaurant. Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher from STNTG) was there. If he was alone, we probably would have invited him to join our table, but he was with someone so we opted to respect his privacy.

Be comfortable in your own level of geekery.

Trying to outgeek another is just another form of "Keeping up with the Joneses" and really is something to be avoided.

Life's a ride; a one way trip with many detour and we only get one shot ( usually). So just enjoy it and be what you want to be.

.... who put this zen garden around me?

ok ok ... ya know how when you were in middle school... Sadly, I recall very little of my middle school days. My best guess is that I experienced some sort of trauma resulting in a mental block; either that or I'm just getting old and forgetful.
