We had a knighting this last weekend. One of my squires and one of my formers squires squire got nighted. We did the ceremony Friday evening, and staged a hunt for boar, stag and Gabbits (Giant Fantasy Rabbits). We closed the evening with some dance and bardic in the castle feasthall. You can see Freiman in some of the pictures, and me too.
It was a beautiful event, we had lots of fun, and some great moment of suspension of disblelief.

Hope you can gain some enjoyment from the pictures. There are none of the actual ceremony of knighting as we always do those without pictures being taken.

Yeah,
It was truly a blast.
I am the fat, old guy with the unkempt hair in the pictures.
Holding a game in an actual castle really helps the mood.

Don't call yourself fat, please. If you are fat, what am I?

Near Cologne, not too terribly far from the Netherlands.
Very cool site. We didn't pay the extra to get access to the sauna, but I think we should have.

It's the kick ass aspect of the LARPs in Europe: they have plenty of old stones that can be rented and make excellent settings.
Can't wait to try it :p

Will you be coming to visit then? We are always happy to have guests.
Twinswords, it is a youth hostel.

I have a very good relation to the staff and manager, having played there for 15 years now. It is a bit pricey, and it is booked long in andvance. It is also very big (220 beds), and if you do not book the whole thing there will be Tourists on site like we had this time. It is about 2.5 hours from Heerlen to drive. It is probably Germanies most larped at castle.
