....what else do I use a d20 for, or what else do normal people use a d20 for?

It's an icosahedron, one of the five Platonic "Perfect Solids", all of which are gaming dice.
D4= Tetrahedron
D6= Hexahedron/Cube (most common of gaming dice)
D8= Octohedron
D12= Dodecahedron
D20= Icosahedron
Gary Gygax may not have invented them, but he was big enough of a geek to know what they were and how to apply them to games. :)

I'm sure Gamescience is working on patenting one as we speak. After all, they brought us the D30 and the D100 (aka "the Golf Ball").

Actually, yes.
I believe it's a d-12.
Not positive. I will ask my wife. She is a math professor.

Considering the ratio of molecular engineers who are gamers, and gamers who work with bulky balls.... I'd be sorta susprised if there isn't. Probally a bloody pain to read the results of a roll, however.....

That's a dodecahedron, one of the perfect solids I mentioned. :)
