Can't say I've heard of Jasper Carrott. The gentleman who was sitting next to me at Bristol was really an elderly British artist who was ever so polite. I just about fell over when he asked me for a rubber.

Henry Davies? I talked to him for a while, if that's the one - to your left from your perspective. He's done a load of work on British children's comics.
Jasper Carrot - British folk music singer turned comedian. He found his stand-up got better reaction from the audience than his singing. If anyone has a peer to peer system and no real interest in the legalities of the situation, I can highly recommend his Magic Roundabout routine.

Oh yes, don't be too surprised if you eventually learn that he asked for that deliberately. We tend to do that if we hear an American accent.
