When I was a young girl
I had so many dreams
Now I look back upon those days
So long ago it seems

I wanted to be a pilot
And fly a spaceship to the stars
Or to be a princess
Who also drove race cars

Those silly dreams of childhood
That I bring to mind
Were replaced by other dreams
Of a very different kind

I wanted to be a singer
And maybe a movie star
But I soon realized my talents there
Wouldn't take me very far

When I was somewhat older
I wanted to be wed
But my would-be Mr. Right
Was Mr. Wrong instead

I no longer dream of being a singing star
Nor a princess racing cars
And I'll never fly a spaceship
Out among the stars

I can never be a mother
I am broken deep inside
But someday I may meet a man
Who'll take me as his bride

I miss those dreams of childhood
As simple as they were then
And maybe someday I will have
Such simple dreams again

cute :jbprncs:

though does make me want to spout out quotes from bill baily. "one of the top things people wish to do before they die is to see the earth from space....conveniently forgetting, become an astronaut"

our childhood dreams do lack alot of realization into whats actually involved so end up rather complex. as life goes on our dreams become simpler.

I don't find it "cute"... I find it deeply touching and personal. Thanks for sharing.
