Thought I'd plug my friend Jason Vey's latest game, Spellcraft & Swordsmen (http://www.lulu.com/elflairgames), which he's pubishing via Lulu. Spellcraft & Swordsmen is his attempt at recreating the look and feel of the oldest incarnations of Dungeons & Dragons while applying some of the more modern thoughts on game design. What's listed here is the Alpha Playtest version, so there's likely to be some issues with game play.

"... I should clarify that those rules are NOT the final version. I wanted to see what it'd look like, but they haven't been properly playtested yet. So please don't hold me to an "it sucks" judgment if, you know, it sucks." -- Jason Vey

Jason's had his work published by Palladium Books and Eden Studios and includes Nightbane: Shadows of Light for Nightbane plus Dungeons & Zombies, and All Tomorrow's Zombies for the All Flesh Must Be Eaten survival horror RPG.

From the little bit you can paruse in the browser on the site it looks like basically a straight rip of old school AD&D.

Granted I didn't look that close.

I miss my old ADD 2ed chars. they were great //sniff//

That's deliberate, and it's not the only game to do that. :)

I believe that.

Old AD&D was great, the new(3,3.5) is good for computer logic, but it does lack the flare and finesse of the old.

Ah well I'm probably sticking with Paladium as it's what I now have the most books for, and am not buying into yet another gaming system :dp:
