Dear gods! Yes, that is true on all counts!

I was one of the only non islanders who got invited to their pig roasts on base. These roasts usually took up the entire volleyball field. Holy crap was that a lot of food every time.

Though the scariest thing was when a few of them decided that I was okay to date one of the samoan females who was stationed in a nearby base.

Men, ever been made to feel like a breathing sex toy? Like all you were there for was as lifesupport for the penis? Sex with her wasn't even sex. It was her fucking herself using my body.

I have a samoan friend...haven't met the rest of his family yet, but he's definately a tall and big boy.

And the story about your exgirlfriend...that's hilarious and scary and awe-inspiring all at the same time.

I do things to the extreme. The time before that when I was going through a severe emotional time I ended up losing close to 30 lbs in 4~5 months.

I don't deal with stress too healthfully XP

There was no offense intended.

What I was talking about is the fact that some of the pictures posted are of the "ohherejustgedditovahwit!!!" variety and don't do the forum member justice.

Take DD's picture.. It was a bit too close-up, posted at too large a size, showed off a zit or two/sleep dep/blackheads etc etc. DD looks like a friendly big guy. Much of his posts personality suggest a wee bit o' zaniness or at least the ability to SMILE... that picture makes him look constipated and standing in line for a $9 pay toilet that hasn't been cleaned!!!

I don't take much seriously, myself included. I've posted good, bad and DAMNING photos of myself. I'm no longer looking to impress ladies (except for the occasional fingernail buff) so I REALLY just post pictures for fun. If that's your situation, kewl. I'sa shut up. (sorta)

All I'm sayin... is that I think some people could do better than "meh.. HERE..." as far as pictures go.

No offense here Crazeyal. I don't like to have pictures of me taken. There are a few out there of me. The ones that I posted are the ones that I currently have access to while at work. If I any better pictures of me, I would be proud to post them. All of the pictures that I have seen whether they are bad or good just shows the individuals confidence in themselves and their willingness to show what they look like even if it was taken at a bad moment. I'll have to look though my pictures that I have on my laptop at home to see if there are any better than the Faire pics that I posted.

You might be kidding, or you might only be half serious. But I've heard those comments before.

I didn't like myself for the longest time. Had a few dark moments where it went to HATE. The trick is, to know yourself. Being not as strong as other people isn't the same as being weak. Looking differant is NOT the same as being ugly.

People who take drastic steps, EG: Steroids/Plastic surgery/Joining the Marines simply to reduce their self loathing often find out that it's never enough. One setback and you are back in the emotional hole you started at.

Don't like how you look? Take it one day at a time. One aspect at a time. Hair can be grown/dyed/cut. Skin can be cleansed and cared for. Weight can be gained or lost.

Don't think you are smart/quick witted/funny enough?? The first step is LISTENING. Watching. Learning.

You think the guy with the two girls on his arm just MAGICALLY comes by them? One in thousand(s) of people are actually born with the gift of gab. It's usually a learned trait. Same with women. I've seen SMOKING HOT babes go dateless because of attitude.

I could go on all night. I won't because I wasn't asked to. I just didn't want to let a comment like that go unchallenged. Like yourself, we like you!

It's easy to say. It's even harder if you've tried and failed to fix things before. The only thing that works is a steady constant progression. Slow or fast, with help or without, the only way to make things better is to WORK AT IT. Steroids make things easier, but even THEY won't do anything without work.

So many people buy exercise machines, and then use them for coat racks. So many people start diets and cheat. The problem isn't being lazy or eating junk for one day, it's giving up after you *%$% up! Human beings %#$ up! It's one of our primary instincts, to follow BAD instincts. The smart person dusts themselves off, finds some encouragement from friends, fellows or just themselves, and KEEPS AT IT.

Moonfaced is just that ... round, pale and pockmarked. Not as many use the term moonfaced anymore because most people who fling insults generally have no skill at it. And saying moonface isn't as direct as calling someone "craterface". So you'll hear craterface a lot more than moonfaced except in older generations or those who speak in an anachronistic manner.

It's not that I don't know it, it's that it still feels werid.
Middle school and early high school sucked for me. I have what is called Trichotillomania (look it up). So like, in middle school, I had no eyelashes on my top lids at all (weird, I know, but like I said, look it up and it'll make more sense).

Once I actually had this one random girl walk up to me in the hallway, stop, stare at my face, and say, "you really don't have any eyelashes??" I seriously wish I had slapped her.

This is how I learned about that whole "most people are total idiots" thing.

And I've gone through various sevarities since then of hiding behind eyeliner and eyebrow pencil. So yeah, it's kinda understandable that I wouldn't be used to positive attention of this sort. I know I'm pretty, I just have issues with the fact that I keep f*#%ing destroying it.

okay Al, I appreciate the sentiment, and I blame myself because I never made my reasons for cutting off all my hair really clear. When I did it, I was in such emotional craziness that I think I was seriously clinically insane up until really recently. yes, it was over a *boy*, I understand it was *stupid* but I can't control how I acted in the past and it's something I just want to leave behind. Letting myself grow out my hair is a sign that I'm actually HEALING. I cut off all my hair before in a fit of clinical craziness and grew it out as I got over what made me batshit insane.

everyone is a little bit crazy and I cut off all my hair because, *yes* I got emo. I didn't do it to *be attractive*, however, I did it because I didn't want to be the-guy-who-messed-with-my-head's TYPE anymore. It's also why I gained quite a bit of weight since we broke up. He liked the ultra skinny girls with long hair. I did it in a fit of crazy emotion and for the first few months when he and I had CONSTANT DAILY CONTACT together, the hair and the weight gain made me feel better. It was like a SHEILD. The last time I did it was to cut off the "weight" and "pressure" and after I cut it off I felt freer. There is history in your hair; hormonal spikes, drug intake, waste in your body. By cutting it all off I cut off emotional history too. It's sort of like catharsis.

I liked my long hair. I thought it was amazing. But, again with the crazy.

I think it's fairly obvious that I've been growing out my hair. I don't understand why THAT ONE INSTANCE ALMOST A YEAR AGO is still being held on so firmly in your mind. I haven't cut my hair once since June. I haven't thought of cutting it since June. I never wanted to cut it since June.

I've known other girls or women to go with that really short look for a while, but the most awkward point is where they're trying to grow it back out and it's at a short-medium length. from your last two avatars, your hair looks very nice now. It could be lighting, or it could be personal tastes, but the long black hair in most of the pictures didn't strike me as that remarkable.

Your bodice has a moticable taper from the waist to the bosum in the ties in front. On your already thin form, that creates an illusion of a more exagerated hourglass figure. The pose at which you've been captured, turned slightly off center from the camera, one leg bent, also helps, as it creates a more natural, "I just happen to be standing here", appearence. That casual posture alone puts you ahead of many of the pictures posted, where the rest of us are essentially staged in front of the camera. (I hope everyone else is taking notes here! If you look at those "mud flap ladies", they have accentuated inward curves at the back and one leg up the same way. The shape, despite being a flat piece of shiny metal, is immediately womanly to human eyes.

Incidentally, that July 4 pic ... you look soaked, as in "climbing out of the lake" or "stepping out of the shower" kind of soaked. And as far as the rainy pic, the rain actually didn't wash all my makeup off. I bleached my hair blonde and I don't care for natural-color hair dye since I use a heavy duty antipsoriasis shampoo.

It's STILL better than my attempt at hair treatment. I wanted to create an "Albino" effect for a LARP, so I started by bleaching my hair blonde. I find out the hard way that my hair is VERY ressistant to bleaching, I wind up with medium brown hair.

Go back to the store, buy TWO bleaching kits and some very VERY light blonde coloring. *SIGH* Turns out I have some natural red in the makeup of my hair.

Your mistake there was not using toner. You shoulda bleached to a blond-ish color, then use toner to give you a white-grey color. Toner takes all the yellow and orange tones out of bleached hair. That's how I got "Rogue" hair (like in x-men).

Yeah, but the fact is, my hair doesn't LIKE being colored. It takes twice the normal bleach to get it stripped, then it does't want to absorb the color. After dying it back, I had to re-color it twice. The frizzies was NOT FUN either. Nooo Tis wigs and hairnets fo MOI, from now on..

If I ever dye it again, I'ma go to a PRO.

Well I'd say that's the best reason.
I've been getting friends coming to me a lot about dying their hair recently. Cuz I'm awesome with the odd colored hair dye.
Currently I am red and pink in front, and pink on the tips. :D

Oooh, nice.

Green can be hard to pull off. If you mess it up then it just looks like you had a bad run-in with a swimming pool.

I've tried blue before but it didn't really work with my skin tone, I'm better off with warm colors. I usually go with variations of warm purples, reds, and pinks.

I was thinking of doing green next though, after my current color fades. Which might be a while though, since this dye is awesome and tends to fade pretty slowly.

Yes but from Jaks comments that's even less dangerous then a bored digi...

And by the looks of her hair she knows how to improperly mix for optimal results.

Besides most comercially available dyes now are pretty hard to screw-up it more you let them sit to long.....

Now this does not cover experimentation, which comercial or salon, could lead to any number of unquantified results not limited to baldness or day-glow hair on the dyer, dyee, or pets in the near vacinity. And well it goes without saying this should always be done in a properly ventilated space.

Actually with odd-colored dye there is no mixing involved. It is very easy on the hair because it is oil based and not chemical based like your average out-of-the-box hair dye. It doesn't burn the color into your hair, it stains your hair. You can leave it in for hours. That's why you get brighter colors if you bleach first and darker colors without bleach.

Lady Macbeth?

Young, ambitious, intense, charismatic, pushed her husband to take his prophecied place as King by killing Duncan, went and slotted the old guy herself when her husband wouldn't, went a bit batty trying non-stop all night to wash the blood off her hands and died. You can hear the rest of the cast whisper that in unison on a video that was made from the back of the theatre. That play was going so wrong by then that we really couldn't spoil it.
