I have Amex points I can use up for someone to visit Europe - this is how Jennie visited Bristol recently - she used up someone's points.
The question is how to do this best again.
She needs to know the best conventions to visit. I have suggested that she tries to combine a convention in Francophonie with one in the UK. This is *only* a suggestion.
I enjoy drawing Bandes dessinés, and reading them, bit I'm not into cons. I really can't help her with suggestion as to the best combination of a French show and an English one. Can you?
I have a strange feeling I've posted this before...

I'm eyeballing the Birmingham show. That and the London Expo seem to be very main stream. The Bristol show did well but that's because a lot of fans showed up.
What's the most convenient show for the Europe crew?

These are just for Next Year (just because the show is in November doesn't mean I'll make it this year)
But so far it looks like Bristol is the only show I've found that has alternative artists.

The only UK con I plan to go to next year is the UK Thing (http://ukwebcomixthing.co.uk/), which I guess is the British MoCCA?

ooh, the UK thing looks nice. I'm trying to get ahold of Liz Greenfield of Stuff Sucks and see what she suggests. She does a lot of UK cons.
What shows are in Denmark?

GMex (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=GMEX&sll=53.475277,-2.25194&sspn=0.01862,0.039825&ie=UTF8&ll=53.472518,-2.245417&spn=0.037243,0.079651&t=h&z=14&iwloc=addr&om=1) is best for me. Easy train into Manchester and tram or metro or whatever they call it there up to the front door. Just don't wander south. Moss Side is not the place to be.
I don't like London the way some Texans don't like New York. :moon:
Does "another European destination" have to be a con? Could you go to something else and call it "research"?

None, unfortunately. Curse me for living in this tiny country...

Gibt's was in Deutschland? Ich kann damit hilfen, weil ich ein Bischen Deutsch noch sprechen kann. Warscheinlich gibt's ein Deutschlander oder Osterreicher oder zwei zehr schone Osterreicherinnen hier?

... only 15 mins away from the NEC ...... with lots of floorspace ... and a big fridge ... and a back garden big enough for a couple of tents if it comes to that? I'll volunteer to be one of the cooks, as long as I don't have to do the washing up too.

Having started this thread I then vanished from the internet - ISP problems.
If anyone has points - either Amex or Continental Airlines - which they are willing to donate, this should give Jennie a bit more flexibility. I have 83,000 points, and a return trip Atlanta - any EU destination served by Continental, costs 50,000 points. So one trip is covered, and only another 17,000 points are needed for her to be able to come over twice.
As far as I can tell, there is nothing to prevent here using points from all her Euro-drooling-fanboys to make up her second 50,000.
