This one is probably my favorite DP comic, and I have it hanging above my X-Box. :D I'd just like to know if this strip was really inspired by true events.
Just wondering because Pong is really old, simple, and hardly available, and I wonder if the comic was all made up to exaggerate the point that Jennie struggles with video games. I'd like to think it really happened, though. It's cute.

I don't get the feel that it is any one specific event and more a general statement. :)

you can get games sets that plug straight into your television that have hundreds of classic games. They cost about the same as a game for a modern games machine.

Christmas about...er...maybe two years ago one of my siblings got two joysticks that plugged into your tv. One had miss packman, donkey kong, and Mario brothers. The other had pong, asteroid, and .... I forget, worm or something? but yeah. I bought them off her for $30. I played them once. Now they're barried under the tv somewhere. Will didn't say the F word, but he was aghast at my video game ineptitude.

It just takes practice Jen, anyone can be pwnage, but rarely is one born pwnage.

I sell the machines all day and barely have time for the one I have at home.

pfft you dont need 10 hours a day! 20 minutes could do it, though 2 hours is better.

Ah, thank you, Jennie.
Yeah, I had forgotten about those controllers that just plug into your TV and have all the old games. I should get one. I sometimes miss my old Atari games. I still have it my old Atari, actually, but can't hook it up to these new-fangled televisions.
Well, that makes that strip even more special now. :D And even though Will may not have dropped the F-bomb, using it in that strip was genius.

I got to know my wife at a Gran Turismo tournament I was hosting. Grand prize was a bag of Starburst Jelly Beans. Maybe having to marry me was prize for last place? ;) Later when she was knocked up and on bed rest she became proficient at a number of games. Now its easier to talk her video games stuff.

Funny, my son has been bugging me to try Rome Total War ever since he got it for Christmas last year. I've been too busy with NWN2 (ie the 1 to 2 hours a week that I might be able to sit in front of a computer and play something) to pick up that game and get addicted to it too. Finally did it yesterday, and sure enough, 4 freaking hours later and my wife is begging me to get off the computer so she can do some actual work on it. Damn addictive nater, damn fun games!
