I wanna know if the restraining orders are for people who aren't allowed near Jennie, or the other way around?

What exactly IS a panty caretaker? And how does one sign up for the position? :DP:

Befriend Jennie, be interesting enough that she hangs out with you without being "rescued", and knowing when the whiskey bottle and/or butterfly net is appropriate doesn't hurt either!!

"Panty Caretaker" - that was SO a title we should have used in the old forums:dgrin:

I'm thinking it would be a cool title for the moderator role.

Tranquilizer gun. You know, the kind they drop horses with?

Are you comparing Jennie to a horse?

Actually, they're used on all manner of animals gone wild.

So I suppose it might be enough to calm down Jennie slightly, assuming you use the elephant dosage.

If, by horse, you mean loaded on caffeine, pixy stix, lack of sleep, and raging Jennie-lust, then yes. :p

That's why the "sedatives" are two bottles of beer.

My two caretakers were my friends Lessa and Happy Goth because they were handling the grownup stuff of the kilt blowing. Happy Goth organized the guys into an orderly line and had them fill out model release forms and Lessa did the photography. They also made sure the batteries were re-charged for the leaf blower and that I had a stack of the calendars from the previous year.
caretaker "Jen, it's time to eat now."
Jen "Spoon!"
caretaker "yes, you can have a rice crispy treat but first you have to eat a sandwich and drink a liquid that is not long island iced tea"

Caretaker makes sure Jen doesn't get arrested or forgets to eat or sleep.

This is tangential, but what kind of beers do you ordinarily drink? Hopefully not Peachtree IPA.

Hence why none of us had to threaten to rock you to sleep this year.

Next year, I'll bring you some local beers. Sure, Stella is lovely. But I think I've a few local brews here which you'd like.

Midwest microbrews are NOT to be missed, Jen.

So Panty Caretaker refers to caretaker of the person who draws The "Devil's Panties" and not the caretaker of panties per se, or their usual contents. Sadness and dissappointment.

Agreed. Come to the midwest, get them fresh!

Maybe Bowman can bring along some of his favorite European beers next time for you beer drinkers.

Depending on the brew, they might already be here. Of course, that means tracking them down.

Q to ATL Area Locals: Does Atlanta have a Wine & Spirits superstore within reasonable distance of Dragon*Con?

EDIT: I've added a thread about this down in OT.

Is there an armourer nearby? It's Georgia. They have gun shops like Seattle has Starbucks.

Okay, so my costume's going to be steel-themed, on a kevlar base, with side-arms as accents and inspired by Robocop and The Master Chief ...

:p

Up in Chicago, there's a place called Sam's Wine & Spirits, it's probably one of the largest stores of its kind that I've ever seen (think supermarket size). Virtually every corner of the globe is represented for just about any alcoholic beverage out there. They were my regular stop for Chimay Ale for many, many years. I was in heaven... even moreso since the Goose Island brewpub was right across the parking lot!

If there's a place like this up there, then getting the otherwise hard-to-find stuff might be that much easier.

EDIT: There is such a place up there. It's called Tower Beer, Wine, & Spirits. Sadly, it's over on Piedmont Road. Maybe Leffy can hit up the one in Doraville before D*C?

Stella when I can find it.

whyyyyyy???
That beer is not THAT good is it? The Stella Artois brewery is located only 50 km from where i live.. but then again, so is the Martens brewery (if i throw a stone really hard, i can crash some windows there), 15 km further is the St Jozef brewery that makes the white-beer "Limburgse Witte", ...

Now that i think of it.. if i have to calculate all the brewing facilities in an 100 km radius, i will strand somewhere between 50 and 60...
---
As a regular beer drinker, i can recommend a few if you want :p

If you like bitter beers (Stella used to be like that): "Duvel" is what you need.. As a warning: This beer is 10-13 vol% alcohol. (Vedett is the Pils version of this beer..)

For a white-beer (cloudy): "Hoegaarden" or "Limburge witte". These beers are more fruity. Absolutely a must to drink from a frozen glass.

For really fruit-beer: Kriek Lindemans. This is a beer were a Wild cherries taste is added. Really sweet, so it drinks like lemonade. One of my personal favorites.
---
I also read in the newspaper that "Palm" is going to go to America (market expansion). This is an Amber beer with a specific taste. Used to be my beer of choice when i was 15-16 years old... Really something i would recommend to try when you see it somewhere :p (like all the previous choices).
---
I don`t know if it was on this forum (Curse you memory!!), but somewhere on the Intarwebs i read that there were a lot of people who were surprised that we here have local abbeys that brew their own beer and sell it. I don`t know if these beers are sold international, but if you manage to find a "Grimbergen" or a "Leffe", TRY IT! these are a huge success here in Belgium. Ideal when you are chilling at a Cafe in the sun. (Both light and dark beers are present. Choice depends on your taste)
---
You absolutely NEED to visit Belgium Jen :)
Beers, Belgian fries (Yes, WITH mayonaisse), Chocolate,... :p

(Note to self: Never again type a post and then go make dinner. If you keep on typing, this makes for a very messy construction of your post and keyboard)
