Thought I'd ask here, especially as the webcomic artist seems to go to so many shows.
Living in the UK, I dont see many exhibitions/shows, and I want to take a trip to america in the next year or 2 (Probably 2009, as I already have alot of conventions Im going too in 2008)
But there's so many, I dont know which one id want to go too, does anyone have some advice for this?

All depends on what you're into.
If you're going to industry type things ... Comicon
If you're wanting to go to the best damned end-all-be-all of cons? DragonCon.
If you're more interested in something specific like anime, star wars ... well ... can't help you. I don't go to the specific fandom cons. I get everything I need at DragonCon.

Dragon*Con pretty much covers all the bases in fandom.
GenCon Indy is comparable in size, but is devoted largely to gaming (and entails a layover in at least one additional U.S. city to get there).

Gen con Indy has similar problems to DC, I've heard, in outgrowing it's home. They just had construction to ease the situation in Atlanta.. It remains to be seen what they are doing and if it will be finished for next year. GC Indy is having major construction done to keep the con, but from what I've heard it won't be complete for years.

Well, I am up for a mix of things anyway, the conventions I go to are a mix of sci-fi, anime/manga and american comics, games depends on the people running the show.
I suppose Dragon Con does seem the most obvious choice then, was one of the ones I was thinking of actually. I do have some money put aside for a holiday, its just a matter of getting my passport sorted.

Disturbingly enough, so is ComicCon, and i have no idea if there's any plans as to how to expand.
And yes, i do still live. No, san diego Hasn't completely burned down. Yet.:dgrin: We'll try again in another 4 years, though...

He's declared anyone with less than 100 posts on the new forum to be a newbie...a few of us have already tried arguing with things like "been here longer than you have" or "but I had x000 posts on the old forum" to no avail.

Under 100 posts? *puts on never-washed NBC suit* (It might not stop me getting pounced, but it ought to stop me getting pounced twice.)
2009 might be the better choice. At least by then there should be a new pres and vp. I want to FOI my own file before I risk contact with Homeland Security.
