I still don't know too much about the gaming side of geek stuff but it looks like a good strip to go though and read.

Ya, I have been reading it off an on for a little while now, really nice storyline. A LITTLE unrealistic tho, I mean c'mon, FOUR women in a gaming store at the same time??? :D
You think we'll venture in alone? Though four maybe stretching it, ;)

*Pounces the newbie* Hiya! :dgrin:
Fun place I've been to in SC has had at least half a dozen women in there every time I've stopped by :)

Sweetie, it's NEVER too late. When you feel better, check out a local gaming convention. You'll get the gamut of situations and experiences pretty quickly. From the sucky GM who's just in it for his own ego, to the master storyteller who should write books (but works in a Jiffy Lube!!)

Read the entire thing and it is really good. It also was a great into into gaming. I never knew that there was go much more out there then the D&D table kinds of games.

That's not so hard to understand. If you get all your gaming from one person, that is.

Seriously?
Yep, well I know that there are also the trading card games (Magic, Pokemon) and the different Heroclix types, but not anything more than that.
I so far am a stardard comic book, sci-fi book and movie geek. But I am learning more. That's one of the great things about being here.
It's just nice to know that I am not the only late bloomer in the ways of roleplay. Spending your learning years living on a remote island has it's draw backs. My friends here(offline) have a tendancy to make me feel like a right idiot just cause i don't know stuff.

Not knowing something you've never been exposed to isn't idiocy, at worst it's ignorance, and is easy enough to cure :) They try making you feel bad, ask them why THEY didn't teach you about it 'til now ;)

I generally usually have no clue as to what's going on. I do like that I am trying to get my feet wet down in the roleplay thread with that story, I just hope that I can keep up and don't screw anything up.
It's all good so far, :D
I suppose have bit of an advantage I LOVE STARWARS! Predominatly cause it was the game I was introduced to roleplay with, and I am getting to play my very first character again, I love it!!

I do know enough about SW that it makes it easy for me to try to work my way into the story. The problem is thinking of new things to add. But it is fun making up a character.
I know what you mean.
But figured my character would cause enough stir just walking around, :dcool:
So just going with the flow,

I noticed. You write her quite seductively.
She is just full of surprises. Has picked up many skills, and uses them well (have 2 specialiserd skills - cost me many xp) ... well, was playing her for 4 years, :D
Just hope I convey her right.

If you have any info on character backstory development it would be great if you could pm it to me.
And now I feel the need to go sing the Oompa Loompa song.
Work day nearly over ... brain turning to mush ...
Not quite sure i follow. You mean my character's background?

Glad I could add to the confusion of the day. I was thinking if there are any forms or layouts to follow when creating a character.
Some systems have them, e.g. Cyber punk ... some don't, e.g. Star Wars(as far as I know).
Though I find the Cyber punk one is good for general ideas, and easy enough to change details to match system characteristics.
For me -for Iza- it was just a case of sitting down with GM and pouncing some ideas around, the rest just filled out with playing.
I'm currently working on a booklet of how to for roleplayers. Can send you a quick rundown of the pointers of charcter generation if you like?
EDIT: Give me a chance to see if it actual makes sense and if I actually seem to know what am talking about, :p

That booklet thing sounds like a great idea. And if you get time please do send me a rundown of pointers.
Hopefully it is as much in practice, as is in thought. There'll be a website too ... hopefully. Anyways, all going to plan should be on computer at home in a few hours. Will see what I can find from my scriblings for you.

Thanks. I might try noting a few ideas about my character down while I wait.
