Well happy B-Day, and you is still just a kid. I hear say that 25 is the new 15.

Maz

Heh, I had my quarter-life crisis at 20... once I hit 21 I felt young again. Don't really remember hitting 25 in particular. Don't really know my age most of the time, for that matter.

I want to be 35. Don't know why, but that's been my frame of mind for a long time - an immature 35 y.o. :D

Was a time when I figured my life would be over and done with by age 30.... as will be turning 29 this fall, am REALLY hopeing that won't be true....

Ruestir

There was something quite interesting that happened with me after I turned 30. Not sure exactly what it was but I began to have a new appreciation of things that I hadn't exactly gave much thought to before. Being 36 now, I can only say that appreciation seems to have grown....egads....I think I'm maturing!

Leffy
07-19-2007, 05:58 PM
eek! maturity! GET IT AWAY! GET IT AWAY!

and hey. i'm hitting 25 soon. i don't see what the eeks about. this is a great age. old enough to do what we want and still young enough not to worry about it.

Wayne
07-19-2007, 06:18 PM
When I get older I am suppose to start worrying about stuff? Oops.

"I married a child." Frequent expression of exasperbation from my wife.

May your better half always say the same of you.

UberFische

maybe it's the age, maybe my job (7 yrs and going) is making me realize my own mortality

Wayne
07-19-2007, 06:45 PM
May your better half always say the same of you.

I would need to find a better half first.

same here, last one found out I was an unfeeling automaton and left me for someone more sensitive (ie: pansy non-militant)

Wayne
07-19-2007, 06:52 PM
I was informed that I was a self centered, uncaring, son of a b****.

Leffy
07-19-2007, 07:28 PM
..... ok wait this difference between you and other men being...? all men are insensitive, all men are sons of bitches. just like all women are overly emotional and outright bitches. its just a matter of if you let that get in the way.

Wayne
07-19-2007, 07:33 PM
But I really am a nice guy. I just hit a speed bumb now and then on accident and without trying.

Leffy
07-19-2007, 07:43 PM
you are a nice guy that i've seen. but hey she couldn't appreciate it. her loss.

Compton
07-19-2007, 07:52 PM
All women are crazy. Its just a matter of finding the right kind of crazy for you.

Leffy
07-19-2007, 08:01 PM
i agree with that :D which is why i'm staunchly hetro. guys are confusing enough.

Leffy
07-19-2007, 08:28 PM

Crazeyal
07-19-2007, 08:29 PM

Wayne
07-19-2007, 08:30 PM

Leffy
07-19-2007, 08:31 PM

Wayne
07-19-2007, 08:33 PM

Keep being told am "a find" - by people already taken - (female roleplayer who plays computer games, loves movies, cooks, cleans), but it not seem to be winning me any favours, :(

Despite sharing the same qualities, I'm pushing 30 and still single. I'm just far too much woman for most gamer guys, and not in the size category. My experience has been they think they can handle me, but find out later how wrong they are. Sorry for not having the emotional requirements of a chia pet, but I happen to think I deserve better than that.

Definitely one of my pet peeves...particularly as at any given time I know at least a couple of other single girls with the same "qualifications."

Thanks guys.

Actually I did contemplate moving to the New England area for a while, but more taken with the idea of Toronto now. But it all means making enough money to be let in, am off my original plan by about 3 years now, :(

Mike Taylor

Yeah, immigrating stateside now is expensive.

Maz

Need enough money to cover 6 months of living expenses, plus some more, plus everything else they ask for. The annoying part is am scoring big points in all the other categories e.g. education, age, occupation ... language is average, if want to go to Canada, but going to an evening class in French will boost that.

Hmm... I bet you could find a company to help out with the $$$ if you cared to go to Alberta instead of Toronto. We are madly looking for workers - what's your area of expertise?

Work here for 6 months, then move to another province (heck with Ontario - go to BC!!).

Librarianship

Hmm... not sure it's directly in demand, but there would probably be some opportunities in related areas (esp. office administration).

Heh...and here I thought I was the only one on here in that field:rolleyes:
Already got your MLS?

What's MLS?

I realize that, Maz.... and no offence intended (Heh, and I bet office admin people would react even more strongly the other way - they are largely closet dictators).

'Twas trying to pick the nearest understaffed job in terms of skill-sets as I assume that with Librarianship goes excellent organizational and data management skills, and a healthy dose of people skills.

The biggest demands here are in construction and similar for the oilsands... fancy swinging a hammer or wielding a welder?

i used to want to be an iron worker like all my uncles and my granpa and daddy. then i made the mistake of saying something about it in front of my dad. apparently its not a good place for a female.

Master's of Library Science(graduate degree). Dunno 'bout the great frozen north, but in the US, at least, you're required to have one before you can be called a Librarian. For example, I work in a library, but I rank as a mere library assistant(or possibly, if the general public is concerned, as a librarian, but never a Librarian(i.e. professional)). I know people who've worked for years in a library, but still don't qualify as Librarians 'cause of that degree. The Professional Librarians're all unionized an' stuff...

Leffy

oooh when i worked at the library there was one chick that got hers and she went from just being an antisocial pain in the ass to snooty bitch within the hour it took to tell everyone she'd got it. she suddenly acted like she owned the damn place because she felt she was a shoe-in for a regional position. she was overlooked, and later fired because she kept "reorganizing" stuff with the schedule so that others worked her times and she somehow still got paid half time for it.
