It's roughly a 2 hour drive for me, and I'm not sure if I'll have to stand duty that weekend. If not, then I think I'll have to go!

If that doesn't work out, then my next best opportunity to meet my new favorite cartoonist is WTHcon in Febuary, which I figure to be a 6-8 hour drive away.

Buying one of everything is already on the "to do" list, otherwise I won't have everything.
Booze is a bad idea. I don't drink, which means I know NOTHING about alcohol. I probrably wouldn't know the really good stuff from sewer water.
Food I can do, thoug if everyone did that then her table may wind up looking more like a bake sale. While comics indicate candy and chocolate may be welcome gifts, I wouldn't want to a) cause a sugar crash, nor b) loose an arm because I didn't pull my hand back fast enough.

YAY! I just put in my leave chit, and will be able to make it to Marscon! Oddly enough, I've never been to a convention. which is odd, because I've certainly had the opportunities, had I ever made the time for it. 7 years in San Diego, and I never bothered to go to comic-con.

okay, do I need tickets?

You do not NEED tickets. This is actually a Quite Small con. Its called a "relax-a-Con" for a reason, small, laid back, and comfy.

But I'm sure they'd appreciate people pre-buying tickets to help cover costs. However, I think the cut-off date for the bargin 20$ weekend ticket was.. the 22nd? or so.

Thier con-panel has been getting busier over the years and the last.. 2? or 3 years I've had a bit of conflit on which panels to go to. Thier Webcomic panels have been really good the last couple of years in my opinion. Good con for tabletop Gaming, and they usually have a couple of Theater style LARPs going.
