This I definitely agree with. Why would you want someone serenading you with statements like "Closer" makes? I'd think that if someone really wanted me, they'd be willing to expend the effort to impress me with their verbal acumen. Words are something I enjoy, especially pleasing ones. "Closer" is about the opposite of what I think is erotic and appealing.

I think the thing with Closer for me isn't actually the lyrics. It's a combination of Trent Reznor's voice and the music. Not sure why because that kind of trancey mixed with metal kind of music has never really done it for me!

Now, I like my techno for the beat, cause if the guy doesn't really have one of his own, he'll tend to mimick the song. And some good rock music is good to have. Metallica and NIN were playing my first time. *happy sigh* good memories.

Now, while I like the RX Bandits, their song Idol is not a good one to play whilst having sex. Especially if your first name is Megan (mine's not, but still). Playing a song about how you love the school slut, and would do anything to do her, but she just keeps ignoring you for the football team is a big moodkiller. And the fact that it's ska makes some people want to laugh. (Their other works aren't really good for sex, either, but they have a good sound.)
