I'm finally going to a second convention! At Wonder-Con (http://www.comic-con.org/wc) in San Francisco next month--Feb. 22-24th. Wireheads is listed under the Small Press Exhibitors (http://www.comic-con.org/wc/wc_exhib.shtml). Anyone on the West Coast thinking of going?

Heh-heh.

WonderCon and the Alternative Press Expo are the two cons I try to attend every year.

I'm finally going to a second convention!...
You said second convention, just out of curiosity, what was the first one?

If you are interested, there is going to be a party at Isotope comics on Saturday night after the con. I realize this conflicts with WonderCon's masquerade ball, but the party usually lasts until 2:00 AM. Below is a link to a video filmed at one of Isotope's previous parties which was held after the A.P.E. comic book convention in 2006.

Click here (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lyVv_oq9474) to view it.

Yes, that is a toilet seat art gallery.
Betcha wish your comic book shop was this much fun.

Sorry I missed you on Sunday jimbo. I stopped by your booth around 4:30PM, but I guess you had gone home early.

Did you get to attend the Isotope party? I saw someone leaving the party in a cab. I thought it might be you, but I wasn't sure. There was a long wait at the restaurant we ate at, and consequently, I didn't get to Isotope till sometime shortly after 10PM.

Despite multiple showings at the con, I opted not to see it. There were just too many other things to see or do for me to justify spending a couple hours watching a movie that is being released on DVD in just a few weeks. I did manage to see Darwyn Cook and actress Vicki Lewis. A few other Hollywood celebs in attendance included: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Summer Glau, James Kyson Lee (Ando from the TV HEROES, Kristen Bell, Anne Hathaway, and Steve Carell.

I was there. All 3 days! Got in Thursday night. Setup early Friday. Was drawing by 10am opening Friday. 9am to 7pm Saturday. Wow! What a great crowd! 11am to 4:29pm Sunday (Yes, I had a LONG drive last night, so my wife and son wanted to hit the road a little early before the giant rain cloud from Marin hit town). Yes, I was at Isoptope. Got there around 9:30pm. Had a chat with the owner and my bud, Raphael Navarro until about 10:30, then had to hit it after the long day. Lots of pix to come. Sat by Noel Neil all 3 days. What a cool lady.

Really sorry I didn't see you. I had wondered what happened.

More about this in my LJ later...

...

EDIT: You know, it's weird that this post says 10:32 PM yesterday (since I posted it this morning at about 10:32am PST) and at 10:32 yesterday night I was driving through the California Desert at 80mph, not posting!

Party at the Isotope on Saturday
I've never seen a comic book shop so packed (free drinks probably had a lot to do with it). Darwyn Cooke and Bruce Timm were both in attendance.

This was a painting in the pub we went to on Friday night. We felt it needed a caption ;).

On the floor pic above, I was far to the right in aisle 1400.
In the picture from Isotope Comics above, I was chatting with Raphael Navarro on the floor in front of the checkout stand.

I must have missed you when I came in (not too hard to do in that crowd). You may have seen me, I had a pizza in my hand when I arrived, which I handed over to Kirsten (who was bartending).

I think I remember that. My nephew Michael (tall, blond, 22) was very impressed with the beer being served. He's a connesieur. It was a nice party
and a good place to be out of the misty rain and cold wind.

That doesn't surprise me. James, the owner of the shop, used to be a bartender.
