Never have understood the appeal of tea.... by the time I get to strong enough that I like it, is more a paste then a liquid....

I let my tea brew for a good long time and then I smother it with sugar and milk.

All the caffine, without the bitter taste!

(This is why I lub energy drinks- sweet and CAFFINATED)

I'd just as soon pop 200+ mg sublingual, personally - all the buzz without the sugary crap.

Tea is good though, if one is in the habit of hot drinks. I can't do coffee all day long, so tea is good maintenance caffeine. I prefer the green-ish types; black is too tannenous.

Hey is the food over in England really as heavy as people say it is.

I hope it's the tea. I know it wasn't my fault.

Ditto...but not so much due to caffiene(seeing as how I'm not s'posed to have any anymore anyways) as the simple fact that it's comfort food. Particularly when paired with a bit of spice cake or ginger cookie of some sort.(and let me just go on record as saying that clotted cream+fresh homemade gingerbread=yum)

Not a regular drinker but i do indulge occasionally. I like mine with milk and 3 sugars when i do have it. As for tea accompanying food i prefer scones, either with strawberry jam or honey, tis very nice indeed :).

kitty!

To, is the tea as heavy as they say in england question

OMG YES I HAVEN'T EATEN THIS WELL IN YEARS!!! (I'd reference you to an now-ancient thread in which we had a long conversation over how my mum perpetually diets and I have a hard time keeping my weight in the healthy-range)...but that thread is now gone)

I looove steak-and-vegetable pasties! And Chicken Tikka! And OMG THE INDIAN FOOD *LOVES*

In conclusion...It is a comfort-food lovers paradise.

I'm not much for hot tea, myself. Being a Southerner, I like mine served over ice with sugar.

Its also great if youve been outside in the middle of a scottish winter for 6 hours and need to warm up in a hurry. Was so cold i drank half a mug of boiling hot tea at 1 gulp and didnt realise how hot it was until it hit my stomach.

Pussies. My dad takes fresh coffee right off the pot, and then nukes it for about 2-2.5 minutes. THEN he drinks it.

Tea and Coffee are not for me, give me something high in sugar with a little bit of fruit juice hidden in it.

Leffy
07-29-2007, 04:54 PM
though my coffee from about noon on contains atleast a quarter cup of sugar, i prefer my coffee with a teaspoon of non dairy creamer, or straight up whipping cream only. we regularly have to buy a new coffee pot every 2 and a half months from over use abuse, and have two coffee pots at any given time. as soon as ones done brewing the seconds begun. in this household a full pot is gone before the next pot is entirely done. caffeine is one of my base addictions the doctor warned me NOT to quit cold turkey when i was preggers lol. between coffee and smoking i was warned cold turkey would send such a shock through my system i'd not only have lost harli but i wouldve created irreparable damage to myself.

im still attempting (stress on attempting. the spirit willing, and all) to quit smoking, but if i were to lose my caffeine as well... well armageddon would look like a tea party.

Praise be to the awesome power of tea.
I drink at least 3 cups of tea a day, minimum. In fact this thread has made me thirsty *goes to make cup of tea*

I get down in the dumps regularly, but my caffine withdrawl is typified with increased irritability and depression. So, I tend to drink a lot of soda, energy drinks and tea just to prevent the evilness of withdrawl.

Lucky for us with allergies, caffine is a natural antihistamine. Allergy/Asthma attack? Chug Mountain Dew!

MWAH! Brominated Vegetable Oil! I swore off all BVO drinks, incl. Mountain Dew (which isn't the same up here, anyways).

Tea is definitely good for slowly weaning off caffeine, but even cold turkey tends to be only a 3-day ordeal for most people. I occasionally go off the stuff for a few days. Just not this week. Or next week....

Leffy
08-06-2007, 03:34 AM
Acetaminophen? .... thats... the easiest OTC to OD on. if you take too much and don't get your stomach pumped within 8 hours, you die of liver failure in roughly 48 hours

kitty!
08-06-2007, 03:35 AM
Thaaat explains David then...

silly bugger.

Though I'm not sure it's that medicine. I'm going to google that and come back later.

kitty!
08-06-2007, 03:37 AM
It's tylenol with codeine. My friend david, as well as my friend dan, and scatterings of other people all find tylenol with codeine, in their words "niiiiiice"

Big Otis Landfish
08-06-2007, 03:46 AM
Weak opiates.... meh. Fine if you don't mind being constipated for a good 48 hours afterwards, and sleeeeeepy. And paracetamol is not happy stuff to play with as noted by Leffy - especially when mixed with alcohol, which is common for young'uns to do with T3's. Trashes your liver... NEVER pop Tylenol for hangovers.

Some of the stronger opiates are better, but any time I've had them I've generally been in a not-fun situation where someone is going to/just has cut great holes in me.

Seolta

Wouldn't know...my family has a tendency toward violent allergic reactions when given codeine.

OTOH, once made the mistake of taking Tylenol Cold and Midol at the same time. Closest I've ever come to getting drunk...

garfalk
08-06-2007, 06:50 AM

Leffy
08-06-2007, 05:16 PM
you know, i've seen midol work better on guys then girls.

then again i can't take naprosin or its related products so of course its not going to work so well for me.

Big Otis Landfish
08-06-2007, 05:23 PM
I have a buddy that swears by Midol for hangovers.
Again, though... acetaminophen bad with alcohol.

And I have found the ultimate hangover cure anyways....

Leffy
08-06-2007, 05:59 PM
midol's good for migraines in men too. something bout the female make up lets it HELP with them according to my friend, but i've seen a dose take a guy from crying and huddling in a dark corner under his bed after he took the meds for it 2 hours before, to upright happy bouncy and walking in sunsine within 35 minutes.
