Where would you be opening? The Windy City's been losing quite a few of its game & comic shops over the past decade.

I'm out in the 'burbs, around Crystal Lake, and the nearest comic shop is over an hour from me. It occured to me that instead of bitching about it I should maybe do something. So what I'm planning is kind of a "head shop for geeks". Comics, RPG, Video Games/LAN Party area. I'm an IT engineer at the CBOE and I think it's about time I did something I enjoyed rather than just pay the bills, 'ya know?

Jamcat, most of those stores were there when I left.

Evil Squirrel opened up because Something Wicked closed up shop in Evanston right after I left. The Stars Our Destination closed about a year before that. Third Eye Games shut down shortly before the turn of the Millenium. Then there are all of the old Wizards of the Coast shops that went bye bye when WoTC was bought by Hasbro.

Another good comic shop is "Dreamland Comics" in Libertyville, but I'm partial to Graham Cracker.

I spoke with Jen yesterday and today, and she was nice enough to give me a couple sketches with the markers I gifted unto her. I'm dropping off some OPI purple nail polish for Happy Goth too.

Pirate Nigel isn't there, but his intern Spike is a really cool cat.

I'll be meandering around Artist's Alley with my black-backpack-of-doom. I have a bunch of stencil work done, so feel free to ask for some, or let's trade some art!

This is something you've never encountered before, and it looks as though the creature is probably crazier than the Cheshire Cat, and too focused to be distracted by sparkly vibrating mongooses covered in chocolate and/or catnip and/or pudding, but has been known to disturb the King of the Trolls and wreak havoc on unsuspecting Newbies, so definitely FEER DA KITTEH!
