I realize that the outside weather of Atlanta in August is probably pretty warm, but what's it usually like inside the con?
There's no way I'm wearing normal clothes to Dragon Con, lol, so I wanna make sure I don't go with something that I'm gonna get grossly sweaty in or something that I'll freeze my ass of wearing.

yeah... its called HotLanta for a reason, i would assume given the bodies present it won't exactly be breezy indoors. not as scorching as outside i hope but not cold either

Yeah, I'm more concerned with being icky sweaty than cold. Seeing as pirates tend to dress in layers. Or, if not a pirate, there will still probably be boots involved in whatever I wear, and boots can get kinda warm.

I spent the summer in an unconditioned dormitory at 105 degree heat wave. I can handle sweaty feet. ;D

Lol, yeah, but I got a lot of hair (HEAD HAIR!) and that tends to be unpleasent in high temps. I can handle hot weather (just wear less clothes, lol) but I wanna know what my options are here.

its not just hot its humid. you will get the frizzies. um. yeah i'd say layers are a no unless you're equipped to stay hydrated. but again i'm speaking in terms of what i know of atlanta in august. which is more outdoors. for all i know they cool the cons to antartica.
i've just learned its safe to assume by the outdoor state.

It gets pretty beastly for DC. Plus the crowds are pretty brutal. Most of the hotels are VERY air conditioned. The problems come from the areas with too many people ina small space or having 10,000 people constantly going ina and out of a door, the AC can't recover.
Dress light. Methinks you aren't going for the "three feathers and a string with a LOT on it's mind" costume... so you shouldn't be cold at all. Other than that, it's HOT.

I think I'm good as far as frizzies. I've recently discovered a really good combination of hair products that gives me really soft smooth curls without making my hair all greasy. :D But trust me, I lived in NC for 6 years. I know humid.
What I need to find is a better shirt to go under my pirate corset. The one I've got now is a pretty standard puffy sleeve shirt, but being that I'm really small, it's pretty loose, which means lots of bunching up under the corset. And having a lump of fabric being stabbed into your ribs all day is really really painful.

I'd guess that the climate within five feet and three inches of the floor will be pretty much the same as the majority of space within five feet and three inches of the floor: 95% water at 37 degrees centigrade. Just think how much warmer a bed is when you're sharing it with one other person!

Try looking through pattern books...I know there are several patterns out there for shirts with the full sleeves and bust like a normal poet shirt and then gathered and attached to a fitted midsection. I've got one floating around somewhere that even incorporates lacing on each side of the front, in one variation.
