Site issues
The database server decided to fill up and we didn't notice until it was 20% over capacity. Fortunately we're with Linode and an upgrade to the database server has given us the room we need for some time to come.
Apologies for the downtime, but we're back.

This is the obvious solution but why not delete some posts off the site like locked threads that no one can use anymore.

That's a longer-term option that we may look at, but I sort of like having the older threads around.
There are alternatives. For various reasons I've backed off on the option of upgrading to the VB4 series on CS, and given some of the coding differences there's the chance that it may actually reduce some of the overheads by itself. However, what we've done so far is to give us at least a year to come up with a better solution.
